Hey, guys. Today, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Tekonsha T-One Wiring Harness here on our 2019 Ford Edge.So our T-One wiring harness is going to provide us with a basic 4-pole trailer connector. Now this is going to work for the majority of the smaller trailers without brakes. It's going to provide us with the running light circuit, the left and right stop and turn signal circuits, as well as the circuit for the ground. So again, most trailers are going to be utilizing this 4-pole connector, as long as they don't have brakes. If they do have brakes, you'll actually need to adapt this to a seven way and we have plenty of four to seven way adapters to do so.So in regards to mounting, we have a few different options here. more

That will give you plenty of power to power up all those lights on your trailer. Our kit is powered directly by the battery, so there is going to be very little strain on our electrical system, and it is going to protect our Edge from any kind of back feeding. It's going to give you all the proper lighting plugs you need for towing your trailer so you can get down the road safely. It's going to give you your turn signals, your brake lights, your ground, and your running lights. You have a nice attached dust cap that's going to help keep any dirt and debris and moisture from getting on your connections and corroding over time. This wiring harness is going to have a power wire that's going to run up to the battery, so it's going to be drawing power from that instead of drawing power from the vehicle's taillights. How that helps is you're going to have 4.2 amps per circuit for your stop and turn signal, and then you're going to have 7.5 amps for your taillights. If you have a few extra lights on your trailer, having that power wire running up to your batter is going to maintain the brightness of the lights on your vehicle and the trailer because it's not drawing any power from the vehicle. One nice thing about the attached dust cap is it can double as a holder when not in use to keep your wiring from dragging the ground. more

As we lay it over our inaudible 00:00:19 plate, we want to take caution not to get it near the latch because we don't want to pinch our wires. We can just close it over top, remove the weather-tight cap, plug it into the trailer, and once we're all done, we can cover it back up, raise the hatch, and put the wire in stowaway for safe keeping until we're ready to use it again. Now, with our wiring system installed, it's going to reduce stress on your vehicle's wiring system while you're towing your trailer. It's a very easy install; it just plugs in behind your tail lights and you're going to run power wire up to the front to your battery. Now let's go ahead and show you how to install it. This is what your kit is going to consist of: a module to convert your signals, T-connectors, hardware package, fuse holder, and the power wire that's going to run from the back of your car to your front. This module is going to help protect your electrical system on your vehicle by not overloading the circuit, since it's going to be powered from the battery itself and not tied into your car's electrical system. To start installing, we're going to remove the tail lights by removing the two 8mm bolts. more
